This week’s Feature Friday is Real Estate Broker Makeda Smith of Makeda Smith Realty and Savvy Chicks in Real Estate

Makeda and I met in 2016 online during a $5k in 30 days workshop hosted by The 6 Figure Chick. Ya see, I had finally grown tired of the direction I was allowing my business to pull me in and decided to actually step into the online space and learn how to grow my business with intention. Makeda and I connected and supported each other by showing up and sharing each other’s Periscope broadcasts.

eBook Cover Design

Makeda already had an established brand complete with logo and color scheme. She was also skilled in creating designs in Canva and marketing her business via social media. What she lacked (from time to time) was time to create more custom designs to educate her audience on home buying and selling. So later in the year, Makeda reached out to me in need of an cover design for her ebook, “The Ultimate Guide to Homeownership for the Savvy Buyer.” She wanted something custom that she could use both online and print if needed. After a couple of rounds of revisions, this is what we came up with…

Makeda’s target audience for this ebook was potential first time home buyers and who were looking for ways to help them accomplish this monumental goal.

Website Design

In 2017, Makeda and I linked up once again when she needed help with a website for her Facebook group Savvy Chicks in Real Estate. Not a stranger to DIYing, Makeda already had a Squarespace account but navigating it and bringing her vision to life was a challenge.

Time for us to work our magic once again. Makeda already had her blog posts typed up, graphics she created herself in Word Swag for her services and professional head shots and stock images all ready to go. When coupled with a few custom buttons, headers and mockups, the result is what we you see below…


The target audience for Makeda’s website is fellow real estate agents who want to grow their business through personal branding on social media. She offers strategy calls, social media audits and branding packages for women who want to make a name for themselves outside of their brokerage firm. She also has a Facebook group and a designated Instagram page for this community of female real estate agents.

The feedback I has been amazing. People are loving the layout the website, the brand colors and the content.


Social Media Templates

In our latest project, Makeda was in need of social media templates to market to buyers and sellers in her area. Using her classically luxurious black, white and gold color scheme along with her updated photos 7 graphics were created for Instagram and Facebook, 3 of which had space to add captions. Here are the final designs.

For this project, Makeda’s target is her real estate audience-buyers, sellers and investors in ANY state. Her emphasis is creating wealth through home ownership and income properties. She uses her templates to educate her audience and create calls to action.

Jennifer was great to work with. She is very detailed in her work and she has an eye for design. She went above and beyond to give me a great website but also provided marketing material to promote my launch. The website and promotional content matched my luxury brand. Jennifer was able to bring my vision to life. I look forward to working with her again.
